2016 – 2017 Scholastic Writing Awards: Southeast Region At Large

Please join us in celebrating the outstanding achievements of our young writers. We are very excited to announce that 10 of our talented students have been recognized with one or more Regional Awards in the 2017 Scholastic Writing competition.

 Emily Martin- Gold Key, Poetry & Gold Key, Poetry

 Sophia McCrimmon- Silver Key, Poetry & Honorable Mention, Poetry

 Amanda Mier- Gold Key, Personal Essay/Memoir

 Natarajan Pallavi- Honorable Mention, Poetry

 Marina Peebles- Gold Key, Personal Essay/Memoir & Silver Key, Personal Essay/Memoir

 Yumna Rahman- Gold Key, Poetry

 Brittani Telfair- Honorable Mention, Flash Fiction & Honorable Mention, Poetry

Additionally, as Gold Key selections, Emily Martin’s poems will be reviewed at the national level in New York City. More than 330,000 works were submitted to the contest this year. We are very proud of our five honorees.
