Parental involvement and volunteerism in Maggie Walker are some of our longest-standing traditions. Parent volunteers are in the halls, the school offices, the classrooms, and at every major school event. This year’s PTSA President is Veronica Chornodolsky.
Some of the events sponsored by our PTSA include our annual Fall Festival (to be held this year on Friday, October 20) faculty and staff appreciation meals, and welcome events for new parents. The PTSA also supports the community by maintaining the Dragon’s Lair Student Store, and by publishing the student directory as well as the weekly Smoke and Scales email newsletter on the new MLWGS PTSA Website via PT Board.

Thanks to all families for the continued support of the RaiseRight program, formerly the Scrip program. With the help of RaiseRight, fundraising for our amazing staff and students has never been easier! We can now raise money for our school simply by using gift cards that are reloadable and e-cards from more than 750 brands – instead of cash or credit – to pay for everyday expenses. Parent Booster Groups combine volunteerism with fundraising to support specific areas of interest in the school. In addition to assisting coaches, teachers, and activity sponsors with organizational and logistical tasks, the Booster Groups partner with the PTSA and the Governor’s School Foundation in the yearly Night of the Dragon fundraising auction.
