Intel IsefCongratulations to Maggie Walker’s Camille Yoke (’16), for her recent participation at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Phoenix, Arizona; earned with her winning project from the  Metro Richmond STEM Fair and the Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair, ‘Constructive Interference of Seismic Surface Waves Antipodal to Crater Impact Sites on Terrestrial Bodies‘.  While at ISEF Camille did an amazing job and earned the following awards:

Astronomical Society of the Pacific and American Astronomical Society (AAS)

o   Winner:  Camille Yoke

European Organization for Nuclear Research – CERN

o   Winner:  Camille Yoke

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)

o   Winner:  Camille Yoke

Camille Yoke – 1st Place Winner – an asteroid will be named after her

o   Project:  Constructive Interference of Seismic Surface Waves Antipodal to Crater Impact Sites on Terrestrial Bodies

o   Teacher:  Harold Houghton

Camille Yoke – Best in Category Winner – Cash Award, and $1000 to her school

o   Project:  Constructive Interference of Seismic Surface Waves Antipodal to Crater Impact Sites on Terrestrial Bodies

o   Teacher:  Harold Houghton

Camille Yoke – Innovation Exploration Award, California Institute of Technology

o   Camille will get a behind the scenes look at CAL Tech in the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Program

  • The JPL Program is managed for NASA by the California Institute of Technology; it is the leading U.S. center for robotic exploration of the solar system
