Six Richmond-area high school golfers were among 31 students honored during the 2019 edition of VSGA Day on Monday morning. The Virginia State Golf Association annually hands out scholarship awards to a select group of student-athletes. Criteria include having an interest in golf, high academic achievement, good character, extensive community involvement, and completing an essay on the impact of golf on the applicant’s life.

Maggie Walker senior Lisa Qin earned the Spencer-Wilkinson Award scholarship of $6,000. She’ll attend the University of Virginia in the fall. Two of her teammates were also honored on Monday, as Virginia Adams also took home a Spencer-Wilkinson Award of $4,000 and Lucia Eovino earned a $3,000 award. Adams will attend Davidson and Eovino is headed to William & Mary.

Congratulations Dragons! A great year for MW golf and coach Mike Brown.
