Dragons play for the Governor at the Capitol Square Holiday Reception, December 7th

A select number of Maggie Walker Orchestra students under the direction of their teacher, Ms. Allison Barnes, performed for the Capitol Square Holiday Reception yesterday, December 7th hosted by Governor Glenn Youngkin and the First Lady of Virginia Suzanne Youngkin.  The students performed in one of the ballrooms of the Governor’s Mansion while the public toured the mansion and meet the Governor.

We are proud these students so beautifully represented their school at this event; Willa Einsenhauer (’23-Henrico), Grace Yoo (’24-Chesterfield), Mark Janssen (’23-Chesterfield), and Sean Fan (’23-Chesterfield).

“Everyone in attendance commented on how professional our students were and how well they played!,” said Ms. Barnes.  The Dragon’s reputation for excellence is the reasons they received this distinct honor.
