Mech Tech Dragons achieved their best results ever at the FIRST Championship for team 422

Robotics 2025

The FIRST Championship is a culminating, international event for our youth robotics competition season and an annual celebration of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) for our community as we prepare young people for the future. Qualification and advancement to participate in FIRST Championship varies by program.

Maggie Walker’s Mech Tech Dragons, team 422, had their best performances yet at the Championship April 16-19 in Houston. Mr. Mark Sailer, team sponsor, wanted us to know of their success and shares the following:

The bus is currently southwest of Atlanta as I am writing this email.

Friday results – The team went 3-2 on Friday, with one of the losses being very close.  The team ranked 4th on the Newton field at the end of qualifications.

Saturday – Team 422 (Mech Tech Dragons) ended up being the 3rd-seeded alliance captain and made it to the Newton Division Finals, losing to the eventual world champion alliance.

“I am extremely proud of how hard the team worked this year,” said Mr. Sailer.

Congratulations, Dragons!
