MLWGS named on the VHSL 2022-23 Winter Sportsmanship Honor Roll

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA —  The Virginia High School League (VHSL) recognizes member schools that made the 2022-23 Winter Sportsmanship Honor Roll. The 231 schools recognized had no player or coach ejections or programs placed on warning status. A list of schools is attached.

“We are extremely proud of all the players, coaches, administrators, and fans who worked very hard to make this happen,” said VHSL Executive Director Dr. John W. “Billy” Haun, Ed.D. “Each school and community should be proud to be on this honor roll. We feel it’s the VHSL’s highest honor. Sportsmanship reflects positively on the individuals, schools, and communities.”

“VHSL activities are an extension of the classroom, and teaching sportsmanship is essential to the education process. In addition, sportsmanship is one of the greatest skills we can instill in our student-athletes,” continued Dr. Haun. “Let’s celebrate this winter’s VHSL Sportsmanship Honor Roll. And say thank you to the student-athletes, school staff, and community members of these schools recognized during the winter season and challenge all our member schools to be on the spring honor roll.”
