The Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School Regional Board meeting will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 9:00 am. Location: Room 153 (Adjunct Classroom)
The board will recognize Maggie Walker Governor’s School English teacher Kara Love who was awarded a summer study scholarship to Oxford University and a senior awarded a National Gold Medal and American Vision Award in the Scholastic Art & Writing contest.
Consent items include the school’s monthly personnel and financial reports and an upcoming computer leasing agreement. Approval items include the adoption of the FY24 school operating budget, the annual authorization for the director to issue personnel contracts for AY24, the student fee schedule for AY24, policy updates, the 23-24 school operating calendar, and a request from the City of Richmond to enter school property to conduct an engineering study for a future transportation project.
Under the review section of the agenda, the board will consider AY24 textbook adoption items and the 23-24 slate of officers for the MLWGS Foundation as required by policy.
