The Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School Regional Board meeting will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 9:00 am. Location: MLWGS, Room 153.
During this meeting, the board plans to greet Ms. Haidee Napier and Dr. Michael Cromartie, the new superintendents from Colonial Heights and Goochland, respectively, as they join the superintendent’s steering committee. We will also showcase our latest faculty members via video. The board will conduct various activities, including reviewing the current financial reports and personnel changes, analyzing the regional salary comparison report, and assessing the progress of the strategic plan. Important tasks to be conducted include approving DOE authorization of signatures for MLWGS, certifying the school’s crisis manual, and finalizing the 2023-2024 student handbook. Furthermore, we will present health and dental rates for approval, which will be put into action on October 1, 2023.
During their first read items, the board will review policy and regulation updates.
