MLWGS Scholar-Athlete of the Week February 19, 2024 (wk #7) – Boys Swim William Blashfield

@patientfirst

William Blashfield (’27, Powhatan)

William is a freshman on the Maggie Walker Boys swim team. This year William attended all but one meet in our season and swam all 8 events.  William’s participation in meets, practice and his willingness/ability to swim in any event is unmatched on the Boys’ team.  William is currently the second fastest 200 Free and 500 Free swimmer on the team, and the third fastest in the 100 Backstroke.  William just barely missed the cut off for States this year in an individual event, and we are looking forward to William’s successes going forward.  “When we see William, we see the future of the team,” said coach Heather Kemmerly.

William is also coached by Deanna Gulick.

We send our gratitude to Patient First for supporting Walker Athletics!
