MLWGS Scholar Athlete of the Week Jan 8, 2024 – Wrestler Camden Nguyen

@patientfirst

Congratulations Camden Nguyen!

Camden Nguyen, Henrico, is a freshman wrestler at Maggie Walker. Nguyen began his wrestling journey in fifth grade at the River City Wrestling Club and continued with the Wilder Middle School Wrestling team. His current record is 14 – 5, and he has placed third in his weight class in the Patrick Henry 3rd Annual Patriot Revolution Invitational and the Godwin Holiday Invitational. Nguyen chose to be a wrestler because it challenges and pushes him to be better.

The wrestling team is coached by Don Blanton.

Outside of wrestling, he plays the trumpet for the Maggie Walker Band; outside of school, he plays the drums. Aside from his musical interests, Nguyen is also a Boy Scout and is currently working towards becoming an Eagle Scout. So far, Nguyen has been a great addition to the Walker Wrestling Team and is off to a great season.

We send our gratitude to Patient First for supporting Walker Athletics!
