MLWGS Scholar-Athlete of the Week May 20, 2024 (wk #16) – Girls Tennis Anna Newell

@patientfirst

Anna Newell (’24-Henrico)

Anna Newell has been on the tennis team all four years at MLWGS. “She is a fierce competitor, holding down the number 3 spot in our lineup the last two seasons and leading the team as a captain as a Senior this year,” said Coach Matthew Ruskan. “She is undefeated in singles this season and is a major reason the team has its eyes set on a third straight state championship. Anna does not lead just with her play, but with her attitude off the court, leading conditioning, weightlifting, and always bringing a positive attitude to anything tennis-related.”

We send our gratitude to Patient First for supporting Walker Athletics!

And that’s a wrap for 2024! Its been very rewarding recognizing our players and send our congratulations to all of the Scholar-Athletes.
