Sam Ulmschneider, a teacher at Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School for Government and International Studies, has been honored by the American Lawyers Alliance as the 2025 Teacher of the Year.
As one of his references shared with the ALA:
“I am so very impressed not only with his intellectual abilities, but his compassion and natural ability to connect with our students. Sam has a unique perspective of knowing how our students think. Every day, I find him either researching on-line or reading from an ever-changing pile of books from VCU’s Cabell Library.
We often discuss teaching strategies, content, and assessment strategies. I always come away from our conversations a better and more thoughtful teacher. Sam has proven himself to be a devoted teacher of students at various levels and in multiple subjects.“
Mr. Ulmschneider will be honored at an Awards Breakfast at the Annual Meeting of the American Lawyers Alliance in Toronto, Canada, on August 8, 2025.
Congratulations on this unique honor, Mr. Ulmscheider!
