News for the Incoming Class of 2026

Dragon Welcome

Congratulations on your acceptance to Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School!  We are confident that you will find your experience as a Green Dragon immensely rewarding!  The academic and social opportunities are endless!

We would like to assist you in making your transition from middle school to high school as seamless and as exciting as possible.  This year we are offering a one-day camp, “The Walker Way Welcome Day,” on Monday, August 15, 2022, the day before the official freshman orientation.

We would like to invite you to participate in this unique opportunity from 9 AM to 2 PM.  Activities will include ice-breakers, group dialogue, team-building, a scavenger hunt, and even a one-act play!

You are strongly encouraged to participate in this unique program.  Please respond to the invitation by completing the Google Form by June 21st.

Students must provide their own transportation.  Please bring a bagged lunch and a water bottle, if desired. Snacks will be provided.

Again, congratulations! We look forward to seeing you for this fun learning opportunity!

Sincerely,

Dr. Lisa Williams, Ed Coleman, and Joy Cobb
