It’s been a vibrant week at Maggie Walker! Our Diwali Food Celebration filled the halls with color, culture, and community. A heartfelt thank-you to the vendors, parents, and students who provided the wonderful food and nourishment that made the event so special.
We also enjoyed some Wednesday fun and camaraderie with a donut truck visit, giving our staff a sweet midweek treat! We then wrapped up the week with Halloween festivities and an MLWGS Trick-or-Treat, bringing plenty of smiles, costumes, and school spirit to our community.
We’ve now concluded regular-season play for our fall sports and are rolling into regionals. Please be sure to cheer on our athletes as girls’ volleyball and boys’ volleyball continue their exciting postseason runs!
As we head into November, please note a few important dates:
- Sunday, November 2: Daylight Saving Time ends—remember to “fall back” one hour.
- Monday, November 3: Student Holiday — Teachers will participate in virtual meetings and parent/teacher conferences (12–3 PM & 4–7 PM).
- Tuesday, November 4: Student & Staff Holiday for Election Day.
- November 4–10: National French Week, celebrating student achievements and appreciation for Francophone culture.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and school community. We have so much to look forward to this November!
Go Dragons!
With pride, Kristin Janssen, MLWGS Executive Director
