Success on the National French Exam!

Recently, many of Maggie Walker’s French language students participated in the National French Contest/Le Grand Concours, an annual competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French. Students of French in grades 1-12, in all 50 states and abroad, take a written test and compete against students with similar educational backgrounds for prizes.

The following  Maggie Walker students received gold medals for scores in the 95th – 99th percentiles:

  • Matilde Quilici (’24-Richmond)
  • Jake Bryner (’26-Henrioc)
  • William Chen (’27-Henrico)

And, we would like to congratulate Ilektra Michalopoulou (’27-Henrico) from Mme Hefty’s French 3 class  for her platinum award for receiving a top score in her level. This prize is only given to students who tie for the top score in the whole country!

Several more of our students received silver and bronze awards from this contest.

Great job Dragons!  Excellent work, as always.
