Teacher Appreciation Week (May 8-12) is right around the corner, and the Virginia Lottery’s statewide “Thank a Teacher” campaign aims to thank thousands of Virginia public school teachers for their hard work. One of our teachers may even take home the grand prize – a Virginia vacation. For the second year in a row, the Virginia Lottery is partnering with the Virginia PTA to encourage students, parents and the general public to send thank-you notes to public school teachers, recognizing them for their hard work and dedication.

It’s easy to participate – many local PTAs will be hosting “Thank a Teacher” writing stations with printed thank-you notes, and anyone can submit a digital thank-you note at www.valottery.com/thankateacher starting today!

Teachers who receive a thank-you note are entered in a drawing to win fun prizes, including a Virginia vacation package courtesy of the Virginia Tourism Corporation, four round-trip train tickets from Amtrak and the Virginia Department of Rail and Transportation, or a $250 VISA gift card from the Virginia Lottery.

We hope you’ll join us and take part in “Thank a Teacher” by recognizing even more teachers this year. Visit www.valottery.com/thankateacher to send an electronic thank-you note to a deserving teacher in your life or check with your individual schools to see what they have planned – many PTAs are hosting thank-you note-writing stations and events! #ThankATeacherVA
