#3 Sunday Snapshot: Dragons Welcoming the Future, Together

Happy Sunday, Dragons!

What a week it’s been! From New Teacher Academy and Convocation to fall sports kicking off, Sports Boosters meetings, Senior Bootcamp, PTSA gatherings, and welcome events for incoming freshman families, our campus has been buzzing with energy and heart. The Dragon spirit is alive. You can feel it in every handshake, hallway hello, and shared smile.

As someone who was that nervous parent not too long ago, I remember standing at the edge of campus, probably more anxious than my student. Would they find their place? Would they feel seen, supported, and inspired? That swirl of emotions is something many of us know. It’s why every warm welcome, thoughtful word, and moment of connection matters so deeply.

This week, we laid a strong foundation with the New Teacher Academy and Convocation, welcoming our faculty with intention and care. All of our student-athletes are back in motion, bringing energy and pride to the field. Senior Bootcamp and PTSA events reignited community bonds, while freshman Foundation meet-and-greets offered meaningful moments for families stepping into this new chapter.

Looking ahead, orientation sessions continue, and our staff is ready to guide each new Dragon with compassion and clarity. Final schedule adjustments, classroom prep, and tech setups are underway, and upcoming events will bring even more time for connection.

To our new families: take a breath. It’s okay to feel nervous. It means you care. You’re not alone, and we’re here to walk alongside you and your student every step of the way.

Wishing you a Sunday filled with rest, reflection, and optimism. Here’s to a remarkable year forward-the Walker Way!

With Dragon Pride,

Kristin K. Janssen
