Adam Smith Competition Regional Winner

Speech and debate teams 2026

Congratulations to our students and Dr. Oreska for being an Adam Smith Regional Winner in the Virginia Department of Education Online Econ/Personal Finance Competition!  Based on the final scores, these teams are invited to participate in the Adam Smith Division of the State Championship of the Governor’s Challenge in April.

DOE Region #1 Winner:     Maggie Walker Governor’s School, Richmond, Multi-divisions, Students: Nathan Berry, Parth Kotak, Elijah Trexler, Derrick Wang

DOE Region #2 Winner:     Princess Anne High School, Virginia Beach

DOE Region #3 Winner:     Riverbend High School, Spotsylvania

DOE Region #4 Winner:     Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, Fairfax County

Multi-division Online Course Winner:     Virtual Virginia
