If your child is an academically oriented current 8th-grade student, then you should consider Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School as their next step.

Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School will present an information forum for students and families interested in knowing more about the program and the admissions process. This year the forum will be All-Virtual.  Details are still in development and will be posted on the website when finalized…stay tuned!

Located in the heart of Richmond, Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School provides unparalleled educational opportunities and personalized learning.  In 2013 a Richmond Times-Dispatch editorial said that “Maggie Walker is the finest comprehensive high school — public or private — in Metro Richmond.”  Maggie Walker was ranked in 2017 by BestSchools.org as #11 out of 100 top schools in the nation, while The Washington Post has ranked MW for several years in their Top Performing Schools With Elite Students category.  Niche. com currently ranks MLWGS as the 8th best high school in the nation. With our last graduation, 184 members of the class of 2020 earned over $12 million dollars in scholarship offers, had a 98% college acceptance rate, three students were selected as Presidential Scholar Candidates, two students earned National Merit Scholarships, and the class earned an average GPA of 4.30 (a new record!).
