Art Students Volunteer to Create Star for American Civil War Museum Inaugural Tree Lighting

Agrawal, Rajani, Vorhees, and Runberg

Last Friday, Nov. 30th, four MLWGS art students under the direction of their teacher, Jeff “Coach” Hall, were celebrated for their work in creating a four-foot star sculpture for the top of the forty-foot tree in the atrium of the American Civil War Museum (ACWM) in Richmond, VA.   This was the inaugural tree-lighting event for the museum.

The sculpture, which has a foam armature, has a hand-sewn exterior of different gold-colored materials and will be used for years to come.    Students Hiya Agrawal (’25-Henrico), Sophia Runberg (’26-Richmond), Raunak Kaur Rajani (’26-Henrico), and Lily Vorhees (’26-Henrico) were in attendance for the festive event.

The tree will be on display at the museum throughout the holiday season.
