Introducing MW’s new head coach for boys’ varsity volleyball

Kody Tingler

Kody Tingler began his volleyball career at the age of 10 playing travel volleyball at RVC. He continued his career playing volleyball at Atlee High School. A four-year varsity starter began as a libero in his freshman year before moving to the middle position for the remaining 3 years. During this time he continued playing travel volleyball at RVC on the national teams traveling the country to play. From there his career continued, playing 4 years of club volleyball at Virginia Tech. Since graduating Kody continues to play in adult leagues at RVC.

Kody’s coaching career began 4 years ago as the JV coach for Maggie Walker. Leading the JV squad to several successful seasons and helping prepare the boys for their futures in varsity. He also helped assist on the varsity team throughout his tenure as the JV coach. He also coached the 15-2 travel team at RCVA for one year.

Kody was born into a volleyball-heavy family with his uncle leading the Atlee girls program for over 20 years before now turning it over to his daughter. He is also related to Penn State volleyball star Kristin Carpenter who went on to win three national titles.
