This weekend, our Speech & Debate Teams represented Maggie Walker at the Speech Super-Regionals and the Debate Regionals with Coaches Erin MacPherson & Celie Boswell.
Our Speech Team came in 2nd at our Super-Regional Tournament. Students placing in the top 3 of their categories will represent us at the State Tournament on March 29th! Students placing 4th in the category are alternates, should any of the top three competitors no longer be able to attend.

- Emma Lindsey – 2nd place in Impromptu Speaking
- Akash Arun Kumar Soumya – 4th place in Original Oratory Speaking
- Henry Erda – 2nd place in Original Oratory Speaking
- ShanShan Liu – 5th place in Storytelling
- Lolu Nzombola – 1st place in Humorous Dramatic Interpretation
- Jaymes Milston – 5th place in Serious Dramatic Interpretation
- Anushri Ramesh – 6th place in Serious Dramatic Interpretation
- Anoushka Anand – 6th place in Poetry Interpretation
- The team of Sanika Kumar & Claire Adcock – 5th place in Serious Duo Dramatic Interpretation

Our Debate Team came in 2nd at our Regional Tournament. We took 12 students to Debate Regionals and 9 of them are eligible to compete at Super-Regionals on April 5th!
