Congratulations to our 2024 Community Foundation & R.E.B Award for Teaching Excellence finalists!

REB FINALISTS 2024

The Community Foundation has announced the finalists for this year’s R.E.B. Awards for Teaching Excellence. Five of the thirty-two finalists are teachers at Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School.

Established in 1988, the R.E.B. Awards for Teaching Excellence recognizes public school teachers who distinguish themselves by their inspiring classroom performance. The program is based on the belief that a positive educational experience at the elementary, middle and high school levels helps children form positive life-long habits toward learning and discipline.

Congratulations to Dickson Benesh-Mathematics, Jeff Hall-Visual Arts, Lindsey LeCroy-Whitworth-English, Nakita Lee-Social Studies, and Steven Ross-International Language Department. Well deserved!
