Last Friday the Dragons played Patrick Henry HS for the State title. While the team was not the successor of the game, their efforts resulted in a tremendously successful season.
Coach Connor Dixon has some thoughts to share with you: “Heading into this volleyball season, there were a LOT of unknown factors thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. There was a good deal of speculation about if we would even play at all, and if we did, what would the season look like? Thanks to guidelines put in place by Maggie Walker, we were able to successfully play all season long! This boys volleyball program worked extremely hard every single day and I really could not be more proud of the guys, and could not have dreamed of a better season. We ended with a record of 11-4, and 2 of those losses came from the now class 4A state champions. The most important thing this season is that all of the guys seemed to have fun, and no matter the outcome of our matches, we did everything as a team. We won together, lost together, played hard together and (at times) made jokes together. This was Maggie Walker’s 2nd straight season making it to the state final game, which is a very special accomplishment. This program is on the rise, and we aren’t done yet! We are bringing back most of our returners next season, so please follow our program and bring support this Fall!”
