VIRTUAL INSTRUCTION: Monday, March 16, 2026

Dear MLWGS Families:

Due to the forecast for heavy winds and the potential for severe weather in the Richmond region, including possible tornadoes, Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School will operate virtually tomorrow. This decision aligns with several of our partner divisions that have also announced building closures.

To preserve our required instructional hours, we will follow a modified virtual schedule consisting of 20-minute synchronous class sessions with short breaks between classes. Teachers may also assign up to 20 minutes of additional asynchronous work that can be completed offline, recognizing the possibility of weather-related power outages.

Virtual Schedule for Tomorrow:

1st Period — 8:40–9:00 AM
3rd Period — 9:05–9:25 AM
5th Period — 9:30–9:50 AM
7th Period — 9:55–10:15 AM

Students should log into their classes through the normal virtual platforms used by their teachers.

All after-school activities are canceled.

The safety of our students, staff, and families remains our top priority. We appreciate your flexibility as we respond to changing weather conditions.

Stay safe and take care.
