David Barnes wins Taylor Teaching Award, will travel in 2020

GS Foundation Director, Suzannah Stora, announced last week that the Taylor Teaching Award selection committee has chosen David Barnes as the recipient of the 2019-2020 Taylor Teaching Award for his trip titled Ecology, Culture, and Change of Tanzania.  Mr. Barnes will travel to Tanzania, where he will hike Mt. Meru, safari the Serengeti, and snorkel off the coast of Zanzibar this coming summer.  Specifically, he will investigate the effects of the physical environment on ecosystem community composition; explore the relationship between environment and culture, and observe the impact of global climate change on the environment in Africa.

Congratulations Mr. Barnes!  We look forward to learning what you bring home to the classroom.
