Dragons at the Metro Richmond Science and Engineering Fair March 2

Congratulations to the MLWGS students who participated and won awards at the Metro Richmond Science and Engineering Fair on Saturday, March 2nd at VCU’s Center for Innovation in STEM Education. VCU’s efforts support the next generation of STEM-literate citizens, who will need to make informed decisions about local, regional, and global challenges in the fields of medicine, health, biodiversity, energy, climate, cybersecurity, and more. 

Devesh Kumar (’24-Henrico)  – won second place in the category of Robotics and Intelligence for his project ‘An Ensemble Approach to Model-Based Reinforcement Learning for Robotic Control’.

Aditya Badhrayan (’25-Henrico) – won second place in the Behavioral & Social Sciences category for his project “Diet on Parkinson’s Disease: Can Intermittent Metabolic Switching ameliorate locomotor impairments caused by alpha-synuclein aggregation?”

Daniel Zhang (’26-Henrico) – won third place in the category of Animal Sciences for his project ‘Machine Learning Based Morphological Assessment for in Ovo Sexing of Chicken Eggs’.

Deepanshi Kumar (’26-Henrico) – participated in the category of Cellular & Molecular Biology

Amogh Saunshimath (’25-Henrico) – participated in the category of Robotics and Intelligence.

Arinan Johri (’26-Henrico) – participated in the category of Animal Sciences.
