Dragons awarded scholarship and travel from the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (SHH)

L-R: Samantha Finnegan and Savannah Vonesh

Savannah Vonesh (’21-Chesterfield) is the recipient of the Bertie Green Travel Award for the El Dominio Antiguo chapter of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (known inhouse as the Spanish National Honor Society) and will travel to Ecuador this summer.  Savannah is one of 20 recipients for this highly competitive scholarship. She is taught this year by Señor Jenkins.

Each year over twenty travel awards are awarded to high school juniors who are members of Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (SHH). The students travel to a country or region of the Spanish-speaking world; the departure date for the trip is generally scheduled for mid-July.

Samantha Finnegan (’20-Hanover) was awarded the Joseph’s Adam Senior Scholarship from the National Spanish Honor Society. Each year the SHH awards twelve $2,000 and forty-eight $1,000 scholarships to graduating senior members of SHH.

Congratulations Savannah and Samantha for these honors!
