Fall Festival is happening October 1st and we have news for you!

The 2021 Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School Annual Fall Festival will return this year after school on Friday, October 1st from 2 pm to 6 pm.  Fall Festival is a wonderful tradition for the MLWGS community and we are delighted for its return.

This year, half of our student body and their families will experience the MLWGS Fall Festival for the first time. The Fall Festival is a fantastic event for all students, their families, and the MLWGS community. Students run booths showcasing delicious food (most will be grab-and-go this year) displays and merchandise along with a stage of live performances. All proceeds raised benefit the participating student groups and help fund their activities.

We are so excited to bring this festival back to life, but to keep everyone safe, we are taking extra precautions and things will need to be run a little differently in 2021.

Individual student performers or groups who wish to perform for 5-6 minutes on the stage must complete an application and be sponsored by a faculty member.  The Google sign-up form has been circulated, but if you need the link, please check with a faculty member or email [email protected]. The signups will be closed this weekend.

If you are planning on attending the Fall Festival this year, you can pre-order tickets by using the following form:  Fall Festival Tickets Preorder form 2021 – Google Docs  Tickets are the currency of the festival.  If you would prefer to purchase them during the festival we gladly accept cash but cannot accept other forms of payment.

The Fall Festival is also looking for adult volunteers to make the return exciting for all the folks who have not seen it before.  If you would like to lend a hand this year, please see the attached sign-up genius or go to the MLWGS PTSA webpage and look for the volunteer opportunities here
