Track Girls Champs 2026

On Friday, June 5th  the Green Dragon quartet of Ivey Shields (‘26 – Richmond), Charlotte Oristian (‘28 – Richmond), Abbi Martin (’26 – Chesterfield), and Cora Bryant (’27 – Richmond) combined to win the VHSL Class 3 Girls 4x800m Relay at the Outdoor Track & Field State Championships.

Senior Ivey Shields led off and put the team in the lead pack from the start. Running in her first outdoor state championships, sophomore Charlotte Oristian went to the lead for the first time just before halfway. Senior Abbi Martin held and even extended that lead slightly, and Junior Cora Bryant made a decisive move with 300m remaining in the race to clinch the state title. Cora’s 2:18.71 anchor leg time was the fastest of any competitor in the field.
