On April 25th, the Honor Council of Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School will host US Representative Abigail Spanberger and VA Representative Schuyler VanValkenburg, to discuss how honor has impacted them throughout their lives and how it shapes their roles as politicians. Each speaker will have 10 to 15 minutes to speak individually, followed by a Q&A session. Students will be invited to ask the representatives questions about the role honor and integrity play in their political and educational careers and their general life experiences.
In hosting these speakers and taking time to listen to the valuable knowledge they have to share, the Honor Council hopes to inform our students and faculty about the importance of honor in every facet of one’s life, whether it’s on a big stage, such as politics, or a smaller one, such as being a role model for members of your community.
