Introducing MW’s new head coach for girls’ varsity volleyball

Maggie Walker is excited to welcome Greg Knight as the new head coach of the Dragons’ girls varsity volleyball team. No stranger to the program, Coach Knight has spent the past three seasons at Maggie Walker, serving as the JV head coach for two years before assisting the varsity team last season.

Before joining Maggie Walker, Coach Knight had a highly successful six-year tenure as the head coach at Hanover High School, where he led the team to back-to-back regional titles and multiple state tournament appearances. A two-time Region 4B Coach of the Year, he helped establish a strong volleyball culture, developing a competitive pipeline that fueled the program’s long-term success.

Coach Knight began his coaching career at LC Bird High School, leading both the JV and varsity boys volleyball teams to winning records in a program that had previously struggled. In addition to high school coaching, he has years of experience coaching competitive travel volleyball and continues to stay involved in the sport at various levels.

A former collegiate athlete, Coach Knight played four years of NCAA volleyball at Eastern Mennonite University. A lifelong player of both indoor and sand volleyball, he brings a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to the Dragons’ program.

Coach Knight looks forward to building on the team’s success and continuing to grow a competitive and positive volleyball culture at Maggie Walker.
