National School Principals’ Day is celebrated annually on May 1st in the United States. It’s a day dedicated to recognizing the hard work, dedication, and leadership of school principals who play a vital role in shaping the educational environment for students, teachers, and communities. Principals manage everything from supporting teachers and engaging with students to handling administrative responsibilities and fostering a positive school culture.

Thank you, Dr. Max Smith and Dr. Lisa Williams, for your leadership during this challenging year at Maggie Walker Governor’s School. Your steady guidance has been a comfort for many.

Lastly, I want to express our gratitude to Dr. Robert Lowerre for serving as the director of this school for over 8 years. Although many in the community may not have seen all the hard work he put in behind the scenes, his contributions made a significant impact on so many lives. We will miss you, Bob. Goodbye, and thank you for being such a great leader.
