May 1st is National School Principals’ Day

National School Principals’ Day is celebrated annually on May 1st in the United States. It’s a day dedicated to recognizing the hard work, dedication, and leadership of school principals who play a vital role in shaping the educational environment for students, teachers, and communities. Principals manage everything from supporting teachers and engaging with students to handling administrative responsibilities and fostering a positive school culture.

Thank you, Dr. Max Smith and Dr. Lisa Williams, for your counsel and efforts in support of our new executive director during her first year at Maggie Walker Governor’s School. Your steady guidance was invaluable to Dr. Janssen and a source of comfort for many. Your encouragement, wisdom, and positive attitude have made a lasting impact on everyone here.

Lastly, we would like to express our appreciation for Dr. Kristin Janssen, MW’s Executive Director, for her wisdom, invaluable experience, and outstanding leadership in education. Her vision, commitment to excellence, and genuine care for both students and staff create a positive, supportive, and inspiring learning environment.

We are truly fortunate to have leaders like you. Thank you for all you do – today and every day.
