The Mech Tech Dragons are the 2018 FIRST Chesapeake District Northern Virginia Event Champions and Industrial Safety Award Winners and Chairman’s Award Winners! To all of our sponsors, teachers, families, mentors, and alumni: Thank you.
The Mech Tech Dragons were able to put together a strong Saturday qualification and to overcome some setbacks Sunday morning to qualify and make an undefeated run in the Sunday afternoon tournament. This is the first win for the club since 2002.
In addition, the club won the Safety award for their team safety plan and the Chairman’s Award. The Chairman’s Award it the most prestigious award for the event that recognizes teams for their outreach and service. The Chairman’s Award gives the team an automatic entry into the district championships.
