Mil-wigs Update

Please permit me to begin this update by acknowledging the support our community has shown to the Buscaglia family and to Mr. Roland (Facilities Manager) during very difficult periods.  We are indeed fortunate to be part of such a close, caring, and supportive community.

The month of May has brought flowers, showers, and a flurry of awesome activity to Maggie Walker.  The month began with outstanding teacher appreciation week activities (courtesy of our PTSA), then on to AP exams, SOL tests, the AP Comparative Government Trip to Canada, annual talent show, sophomore class ring deliveries, and prom (among other activities).  The remainder of the month includes conference/regional VHSL contests, SCA officer election speeches, our Incoming Freshman Parent Orientation, national debate competition in San Diego, and the Memorial Day holiday.  Following Memorial Day, we will host senior showcase day (June 1), volunteer appreciation dinner, semester exams will be right around the corner, as will VHSL state playoffs.  Oh…and the sun is scheduled to return sometime this month…let the sun shine!

There are only 19 school days remaining until graduation on June 17.  For seniors, this means that the box pertaining to our Community Service graduation requirement should already be checked.  For underclassmen, you are reminded to turn in our CS documentation soon so that we can account for all of the hours you have earned.

Onward!
