MLWGS ’23 yearbook wins First Class Honors in the VHSL Media Championships

Speech and debate teams 2026

Congratulations to the 2022-2023 Yearbook staff and their incomparable advisor Michael White for organizing an award-winning book!  They won FIRST CLASS honors in the VHSL competition this past weekend. Entries were evaluated by out-of-state magazine, newspaper, yearbook and broadcast evaluators participating in the VHSL Evaluation Services each year.

“As Michael’s workroom neighbor, I have witnessed his countless hours of dedication and leadership that led to this amazing accomplishment,” said Kerry Sheppard, English Department Chair.  “Michael and his staff (shout-out to his Editor-in-Chief, Riley Surratt) work tirelessly to produce this special part of every student’s history at MLWGS, and we are so proud of them as they receive this well-deserved recognition!”
