MLWGS boys track team was the Group 3 Region B Team Champions and Group 3 State Runners-Up

Congratulations to the Maggie Walker boys track team as the 2022 Group 3 Region B Team Champions and Group 3 State Runners-Up. This is the boy’s 1st Regional Outdoor track team title since we moved up to Group 3 in 2019. At states, the boys tied with Heritage (Lynchburg) for 2nd. There’s no team score tie-breaker in T&F.

This is also the first time the boys have made the team podium at States in Track & Field since we moved up to Group 3. The boys were also 2nd in Cross Country earlier this school year. 36 of our 41 team points were scored by Seniors, the other 5 points came from Freshman Adrian Chenoweth (Richmond) who finished 4th in the 400m dash running 50.40 seconds, the 5th fastest freshman time in the state of Virginia this year.

Additional honors go to Ross Bazzichi (’22-Chesterfield) as the 2022 VHSL State Discus Champion.

The track team is coached by Jim Holdren, Deborah Snagg, Ryan Webb, Bob Disse, and John Cerminara. Well done all!
