The Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School Executive Board meeting will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 9:00 am. Location: MLWGS, Room 153.
The executive board consists of representatives from Powhatan, New Kent, Petersburg, Goochland, and Richmond.
At this meeting, the board will recognize national medal winners in the Scholastic Art Awards., including Peize Wang; ’25-Henrico, who received the highest honor, a National Gold Medal Portfolio.
The board will engage with several duties, including reviewing the current financial reports and personnel changes, if any, as well as assessing the progress of the strategic plan. Important tasks to be completed include approvals of the MLWGS Foundation slate of officers for 2025-2026, and a new international trip proposal by Dan Brown for WWII and the Western Front in June 2026.
Finally, the board will review the results of the recent ideal candidate profile for the director position, created from community feedback, and discuss the progress of the search.
