MLWGS Executive School Board Meeting on Thursday, April 18, 2024 @ 9:00 am

The next scheduled meeting of the Executive School Board will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 9:00 am in Room 153 (Adjunct Classroom) on the campus of the Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School. The Executive Board is comprised of the board members from Petersburg, Goochland, Dinwiddie, King and Queen, and Hanover. 

The board will recognize Maggie Walker’s orchestra, band, and chorus departments and their students who recently earned unanimous superior ratings and the Blue Ribbon Award from the VMEA. 

During the meeting, the board will be asked to approve the current operating financial statements and personnel actions. Other business actions include authorization for the director to issue personnel contracts for AY2025, approval of the AY2025 student fee schedule, and an international trip proposal to Peru in 2025.

Regular business will include an update from the director on the current strategic plan and first read for the approval of the GS Foundation 2024-25 slate of officers, and an international exchange proposal between MLWGS and German students with travel both ways in 2025.

Persons unable to attend in-person but wanting to address the Regional School Board during the public comment period are invited to use this form to submit their comments by 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 17, 2024, or email their remarks to the Deputy Board Clerk.
