The Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School Executive Board meeting will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 9:00 am. Location: MLWGS, Room 153.
The board will be introduced to our newest faculty and staff by video in this meeting. They will engage with several duties, including reviewing the current financial reports and personnel changes, as well as assessing the progress of the strategic plan. Important tasks to be completed include approving DOE authorization of signatures for MLWGS, certifying the school’s crisis manual, and finalizing the 2024-2025 student handbook. Additionally, they will be presented with the health and dental rates renewal for approval, which will take effect on October 1, 2024. Lastly, the board will be asked to approve a classroom trip request for March 2025 to Tulsa and Oklahoma City.
During their first read items, the board will review audit reports from fiscal years 2019 through 2021 and policy and regulation updates from the spring and summer 2024.
