MLWGS Regional School Board Meeting on August 19, 2021 @ 9 am and public comment information, Update: Masks are required

Update: Masks are required for in-person attendance. The MLWGS Regional School Board Meeting will be recorded for those wishing to view it at a later time. In-person attendance is restricted to the limitations of the number of participants who can socially distance at 3 feet minimally while wearing a mask at all times. If an individual is unable to wear a mask and needs accommodation, the individual must notify Barbara Marshall, Regional School Board Clerk, at [email protected] by 10:00 a.m. of the day before the meeting and a separate opportunity will be available as an ADA accommodation.

The Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School Regional Board meeting will be held on August 19, 2021, at 9:00 am on the school campus. 

We welcome our newest participating divisions, Colonial Heights Public Schools and Dinwiddie Public Schools, and their respective board members and superintendents.  We also welcome back to the board Ms. Martha Harris of Charles City Public Schools. 

At the August regular meeting, the board will be asked to approve a series of annual authorizations needed for DOE and State safety agencies, the early-start AY23 school operating calendar, staff benefit rates, various policies including a review of VHSL and activity participation, admission assessments, an amended student fee schedule, and an international trip proposal to France during spring break 2022.  An update on the Strategic Plan implementation will also be presented.

Persons unable to attend in-person but wanting to address the Regional School Board during the public comment period are invited to use this form to submit their comments by 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 18, 2021, or email their remarks to the Board Clerk.
