The next meeting of the full Regional School Board of Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 9:00 am. The meeting is on the MLWGS campus in Room 153.
The agenda for the meeting includes a review of current financial reports, personnel changes, and a discussion of the progress of the current strategic plan and development of the new one. The board will be requested to approve trip proposals to Argentina in 2027 and England in 2026, and policy updates for cell phones and student-athlete concussion protocols.
Under the first read, the board will be asked to review the school’s administrative procedures manual, and a trip proposal to Morocco over spring break 2026. This will be the sixth time students will travel to Morocco for their seminar class, so it’s a familiar trip for the chaperones.
The board will be provided with their division slot commitment letters for AY27, which the executive director uses to build the next operating budget. Additionally, the director of the MLWGS Foundation will present their annual impact report that covers the enrichment they provided to the MLWGS program. Lastly, the board will review its annual self-evaluation feedback.
