Camden Ennis – ’25, Chesterfield and Leo Chenoweth – ’25 – Richmond
“Camden and Leo represent what is possible through hard work, determination, and patience. As freshmen, these two young men showed up and worked hard, and while there were glimmers of talent, no one on the coaching staff predicted just how big of an impact they would have by the end of their senior years,” said Coach Ryan Webb.
Over the past two years, Camden has come into his own as a leader both on and off the track. He takes time to teach his teammates when the coaches can’t be right there beside them, and he works tirelessly on his craft. In his final seasons as a dragon, he has emerged as one of the best long sprinters in Region B. He is part of the school’s 4x200m (indoor) and 4x100m (outdoor) relay records, and he turned a sub-50-second 400m leg on the boys Distance Medley Relay, which has qualified for next month’s Outdoor national championship meet. Individually, he is the #1 seed for the 400m dash at Wednesday’s regional championships and will anchor our upset-minded 4x400m relay as well.
Leo’s story is even more incredible. On Leo’s first day of his freshman year, he couldn’t break 6 minutes for one mile. Leo graduates this week with current lifetime bests of 4:29 for the mile, 9:50 for two miles, and ran 16:20 for 5k twice in cross country. Leo is one of the most humble, hardworking young men that we’ve got. He just shows up, puts in the work, and has gotten faster year in and year out. He was part of the boys’ 2023 XC State Champion team as a junior and the 2024 State Runner-up team as a senior. Indoors this winter, he was part of the boys’ state champion 4x800m relay team, splitting 1:59 and helping the team run under 8 minutes for just the 2nd time indoors in school history. Outdoors, Leo has set himself up for a strong Regional and state meet where he will again be focused on the 4x800m relay, 1600m run, and 800m run with a solid chance to score big points in all 3 events.

Congratulations, Camden and Leo.
