Olive Roever – ’26, Richmond

Olive Roever (’26-Richmond) has been making impacts on the Indoor and Outdoor track teams since her freshman year, but her Junior Outdoor Track season has already reached historic levels. Olive specializes in the longer sprint events, the brutally difficult 300m hurdles, and is a key piece of the perennially state-recognized Lady Green Dragon sprint relays. Earlier this season at the Mechanicsville Invitational Olive recorded the 2nd fastest 200m dash in school history (26.03), was the fastest leg (60.8) on the girls 4x400m relay which currently holds Group 3’s state leading time (4:06.29), and is currently ranked in the top 15 in Group 3 in the 300m hurdles. Just last Wednesday, Olive was the 2nd leg on our girls’ 4x100m relay, which set a new school record (50.31) in the event (Relay members Ella Nock (’25-Henrico), Olive, Erin Cotman (’25-Charles City), Stella Griffin (’27-Richmond)). In total, this is the 6th time that Olive has been part of a school record-breaking relay team across the 4×100, 4×200, and 4×400. Olive’s work in her community as the Vice President of We Play Too and with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is equally, if not more, impressive than her athletic accomplishments.

“The growth that I have seen in Olive from her freshman year to now has been incredible,” said coach Ryan Webb. “Not just in her performances, which have been spectacular, but in her mindset, her leadership, and in the way she approaches her work on a daily basis. She has always been a talented sprinter; the difference is now she believes in that talent. By the end of next school year, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if she graduates as one of the most decorated and honored sprinters in the history of the program.”
