MLWGS Speech Takes 1st Place at Regionals

“After a hectic few weeks of school closures & virtual school due to snow and ice, I am so proud to report that the Maggie Walker Speech Team had great success this weekend at Regionals, said sponsor Erin MacPherson.” (Stay tuned for the results from NSDA Virginia Qualifiers!)

Speech Regionals Results: 1st Place in the Region! 

  • Harper Cox – 1st place in Extemporaneous Speaking
  • Evelyn  Johnson – 1st place in Impromptu Speaking
  • Akash Arun Kumar Soumya – 1st place in Original Oratory
  • Rohan Rajguru – 1st place in Storytelling
  • Melody Qian – 1st place in Dramatic Interpretation 
  • Urvika Bansal – 3rd place in Prose Interpretation
  • Shaivi Shankhwar – 1st place in Poetry Interpretation
  • Emily Garcia Recinos – 2nd place in Poetry Interpretation 

All 8 competitors will attend Super-Regionals on February 28th at Petersburg High School!
