MLWGS Wind Symphony & Band receive Superior Ratings

Band Assessment 2025

We are happy to report that the Maggie Walker Wind Symphony received Superior Ratings (the highest rating) for playing grade 6 literature (the highest level) at the assessment this weekend! “They worked incredibly hard, and their work was recognized by a tough but fair panel of judges,” said their teacher Nicholas Merillat.

This was a particularly special year for the Intermediate Band, as they performed at assessment for the first time! The band is mostly freshmen and they worked very hard to earn an overall Excellent Rating, with a superior rating in sight reading!
