MW Debate team wins 2021 State Championship

Congratulations to the Maggie L. Walker Debate and Forensics teams for their performance last weekend at the Virginia Catholic Forensic League State Championship. The debate team won the state championship with the following individuals placing in the tournament. In Public Forum Debate: 1^st Place: Ethan Ringer and John Staley, 3^rd Place: Vena Flournoy and Jamilah Ganyuma, and 4^th Place: Anna Murray and Layne Hopkins. In Lincoln-Douglas Debate 2^nd Place: Varun Mandgi, 3^rd Place: Senthil Meyyappan, 4^th Place Annabel Tang. In Student Congress Debate: 2^nd Place: Tejas Muthusamy, 5^th Place Amanda Perez.

In Forensics Pooja Muthuraj finished in 1^st Place and Ethan Helms finished in 3^rd Place. All of these students have qualified to compete at the National Championships to be held over Memorial Day Weekend.
