VCCA logoEnglish teacher Michele Surat has been awarded an international fellowship for her poetry through the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Ms. Surat will be a resident at the Moulin a Nef Artists’ Colony in Auvillar, France for August 2019. She will be working on a poetry manuscript. Ms. Surat has taught for the Governor’s School since the 1998-1999 academic year. She is currently a teacher of AP Language and Composition, AP Literature and Composition, and World Literature. She is also the award-winning writer of Angel Child, Dragon Child, a children’s book.
